Government asks DRDO to probe Nexon EV fire incident
Tata Motors is separately conducting a detailed investigation into the fire incident on Wednesday involving its Nexon EV.

Editor's note: The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has ordered an independent probe into a fire incident involving the electric version of Tata Motors’s Nexon SUV in Mumbai on Wednesday. The Centre for Fire Explosive and Environment Safety, which falls under the Defence Research and Development Organisation, is leading the probe. The agency was earlier tasked with investigating multiple fire incidents involving electric two-wheelers. On Thursday, Tata Motors said it is conducting a detailed investigation into the fire, the first involving a mainstream electric four-wheeler. The incident was reported from the Mumbai suburb of Vasai late on Wednesday evening. The cause of the fire is still unknown. “We will share a detailed response thereafter.
